England U21 winger Ademola Lookman is open to the idea of switching his international allegiance to play for Nigeria, according to Sky sources.
The Nigerian FA have approached Lookman about the possibility, with the 21-year-old, who was born in south London, qualifying to play for the Super Eagles through his parents.
Lookman recently completed a £16m move to RB Leipzig from Everton after making 36 Premier League appearances for the Toffees and starting his career at Charlton.
He spent the second half of the 2017-18 season on loan at Leipzig, impressing with five goals in 11 games, and made a permanent move to Germany this summer by penning a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side.
Lookman has been capped by the Three Lions at U19, U20 and U21 level and would follow in the footsteps of Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi who both represented England at youth level before playing for the senior Nigeria side.

This is the kinda news man dem wanna hear. This boy n wazza dazzler Chuzee playing from d wings with Iwobi running things from d middle, raas blood…grass will suffer, opposition defence run ragged. There will be fire on d pitch. Fans will be entertained n angry, football game not being played for more than 2 hours. That combo will surely bring to life typical Nigeria wing play as we saw with Amunike/ Tijany Babangida in one of the All African games football back then.
Hahahaha. I love your street football patua. It’s ‘ginger-ful.’ If NFF can get this guy (and perhaps Tammy too), then it’s hurray and hallelujah. Then WC semi final could be a possibility in no distant time.
Hahahaha.. Brother, I know a footballer when I see one. Right from u-17 world cup, was when I singled out Chukweze. This boy Ademola is another one. England will continue to remain blind with Brexit, before they know it,we don catch this boy for SE. All he needs is focus. He is a top player. Truth is Tammy scores goals but there is something missing; PERSONALITY. Chelsea/England are making him to doubt his huge talent. Very annoying. Make our children they come back home. We love them more than the English can ever do. Na money we no get..lolzz .
Nice discourse on Ademola Lookman, a truly gifted wide man with fluid movement on the ball and eye for goal; his shooting skills and potency at long range are very impressive and would undoubtedly come in handy for the SE.
The grass is green with players like Onyekuru, Simon Moses, Samuel Kalu and Chukwueze and David Okereke
Cairo 1991…… smoking hot Flying Eagles
Thanks @Father JP.That nigerian team was truly smoking hot. If I can remember they defeated either Uganda or Zimbabwe 8-1. That was one team, that epitomised Nigeria’s traditional wing play with Amunike n Tijani Babangida tearing out opponents defence like hot knife going through butter, from the wings.
Infact, this is a big plus to Nigeria U-23 Olympic team.
Pls Nigerian stop persuading Odion Ighalo to back 2_Super eagle.Let all this young lads(Onyekuru,Osimhen, chukwueze,C.Dessert) to get opportunity 2 play. And see D.Bonaventure, D.Okereke are coming up.
Gernot Rohr Beware
The NFF should move swiftly to secure him. Delay could be regrettable
We need him in super eagles .nfa should get him before English fa start putting pressure on him.
About time. Quality addition to the squad. Let’s cap him asap before the English realise what’s happening.
This young man is really good and deserve to be on the Nigeria side.
Bishop Joshua, Patrick and Pompei have nailed the truth, if only NFF could act fast to cap the guy on time, apparently SE would be rich both on the field and the bench.
@Glory you right bro, I can separate real ballers from pretenders Lookman nah confirm baller,he can operate from the middle or from the flanks.Adding Lookman, Sheyi Ojo with other young aggressive ballers I think the Eagles can touch the sky.
Hvng d boy is nt d prblm, wil d coah know hw 2 manage dem, nigerians hv beta players dan dis boy bt d coach does nt know hw to use dem. Since 2018 wc i knew him as a bad coach. Hw can he bench ebuehi, iwobi and simmy against Argentina nd they (Argentina) were even weakest team in dat tournament and we lost bc of him and he even repeated the same thin dis AFCON , am even surprised dat some nigerians and NFF are even sayin he tried , he didnt try at all, we are tired of bronze , our local coaches qualified nigs to wc, won AFCON nd bronze . Dis man did nothn dat has nt been done b4, its time 4 NFF to search 4 a beta foreign coach bc we hv talented players to win 2022 wc. Long live NIGER!!
To win 2022 WorldCup??? Which WorldCup?? Ok U17 WorldCup abi?Of course we can win that one. Tell you what with your so called world class coach we may not even qualify for the WorldCup talk less of even making it out of the group stage LEEEMAOO!!! Win WorldCup ko win GlobalCup ni.
Get what better players? All those grand father clock wey dey Nigeria league abi? Or those many pretenders wey agents selfishly sell to sorry clubs in Europe n now looking to use SE to polish their market value. Tell me what better players? Give praise to those that deserves it n let’s stop this selfish appraisal of issues, so Nigeria can grow. Sometimes if we don’t have something to say, we should busy ourselves frying ice block.
Lookman you’re about take the best decision in your life, Go ahead. Stop waiting for England. Learn from others who have made that mistake in the past. Playing for England national team doesn’t favor Nigerians. Agbonlahor and co. Come and join Ola Aina, Iwobi, Ebuehi and others and enjoy yourself. Playing for the super eagles will add a lot to your career.
With 11 Chukwueze, Oshime, Lookman, Tammy, Kalu, even with Jay Jay, Amuneke, all put together with coach Rhor, SE will still play defensive game. Rhor will convert the excess attackers into defenders and play them out of position.
Rhor MUST GO.
RHOR IS THE SOURCE OF OUR PROBLEMS
But we moved from 67th position to 33rd within 3 years. That’s a fact a coach who is the source of the SuperEagles problems will not take you from the purgatory of football to a top 35 team after reaching the bottom. If you like cry till 2022 Rohr is here to stay. At least till Qatar 2022.
@Ayphillydegreat u are so wise bro dats why i personally love to read ur posts here not some people dat is talking rubish,Rohr is really taking this team higher with players switching and sining for better clubs and playing gud football, last afcon we played 7matches our players took motm award 6 times, dats is a gud sign of progress,i think with Ademola and others sky will be SE limit.God bless nija
If truly Rohr is the source of our problem, then may God continue to give us this kinda source. Imagine someone comparing United States sacking Klinsman despite what he did to Rohr in Nigeria. How sensible? How can someone say that without comparing the two countries first, with regards to fund, stability, transparency etc. It just tells of one with very shallow reasoning. America is well organized country,a country blessed with great technocrats in almost all facets, a country with very high level of transparency, a country where someone like Dalung/Giwa would HV bn put in prison even before they coughed.A country that can build a world class football pitch with just a blink of an eye etc n yet someone is comparing Rohr’s case to Klinsman. God help us by keep giving more SOURCE LIKE ROHR.
I don’t know that Rhor achieved mor with the SE than Klinsman did with the USA, yet Klinsman was let go.
Afrcicans should learn to make decisions devoid of Emotions.
Good bye Rhor.
THANK GOD ENLIGHTENED MINDS ARE COMING OUT TO SAY THE TRUTH THAT ROHR HAS NOT GOT THE INTELLIGENCE TO DRIVE THIS EAGLES TO THE PROMISED LAND YET SOME PEOPLE THINK WE HATE HIM AND DONT APPRECIATE HIM. WE NEED A VERY SMART COACH TO BRING OUT THE BEST NIT ROHR. LET HIM STAY AWAY WITH HIS INFERIORITY BUG THAT HAS EATEN THE CONFIDENCE OF OUR PLAYERS.
Smart coach indeed. Please I implore you to write a memo to the NFF and give us the lists of those smart coaches that will take us to the promise land. Promise land ko. Okun pupa ni.
Mostly am just happy that TYRONNE EBUHI HAS RETURNED FINALLY to fitness completely super eagle will be great again with these young lads of his kind.
How can person be saying a team that scored 5 against Seychelles, 4 against Cameroon, 3 against Algeria, 3 against Cameroon again, 3 against South Africa (2 cancelled) in qualifiers and another 2 at the nation’s cup is Defending? Nawa o!
Anyway…..
Lookman once rejected us…now he’s in
Expect the same from Tammy soon
Okereke is on fire
Iheanacho is coming back
Bazee(the faster version of Victor Moses) is still dreaming of Naija,
Dennis Bonaventure is becoming hot n hot let’s wait for more good news.
Leave Rohr alone…by the time we are there..we won’t need to defend.
Nigerian left wing players now and future: Ahmed Musa(needs to rest). Henry Onyekuru, Moses Simon, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure (under 23), Anthony Nwakaeme. Add Lookman and our under 23 and Super Eagles are covered until 2022
I’ve been watching Tammy Abraham in recent games. I think we should grant him his wish. Let England have him abeg. After all the shakara, the fact is the guy is just a mediocre, to be honest. Clumsy on the ball, poor positioning, and misses lots of chances! The guy makes Onuachu look like Yekini. After watching his performance, especially a glaring miss in front of open net, against Borussia Munchengladbach yesterday, I have to throw in the towel on this guy. Unless he improves DRAMATICALLY, I think England can go ahead and have him.
A team that plays two defensive or holding midfielders in every match is a defensive team.
When you play with one DM #4, and two AM #8 and #10, in adition. To #7, #11 and #9. That attacking football made in Nigeria.
That was how the USA ’94 team put us on the world map as the best entertaining team of the tournament.
That was the Atlanta 1996 team won a gold medal.
Bonfere Jo removed a defender and introduced an attacker, and we got the needed goals.
You attack on purpose, you create chances and score goals and not sit back like Morinho.
Rhor Must Go.
Finish your contract and be gone Mr. Rhor or do the honorable thing , quit.

@CJ..watch Nigeria) Madagascar again even though it’s a bad match to watch…. It’s the best attacking game Indidi has ever played for eagles..even Etebo is an attacking player..that was why he scored 4 good goals against Japan during Olympic.
Nigeria choose their pattern of play According to the Opponent or the situation of the match.
Go back and check the Stats against Almighty Algeria and South Africa..u will know that sometimes, the so called two defensive midfielder can be tricky…it was a Etebo that played the shot that lead to the penalty that Algeria conceded against us.
This dude will be a strong addition to our SE.
Our stregnth keeps increasing with flooding of raw talents. We just need the best scheme and game plan to get the best.
Let the NFF know about this news quickly and let us have some updates as soon as possible…
Interesting ..!
