Super Eagles star forward Ademola Lookman has been named Atalanta Player of the Month for September.
Atalanta announced Lookman as the winner of the award on their X handle on Sunday.
Lookman was the standout player for the reigning Europa League champions as he scored two goals and provided one assist.
He scored and provided an assist in Atalanta’s 3-2 win at home against Fiorentina.
He then got on the score sheet again which was a late penalty as Atalanta suffered a shock 3-2 loss at home to Como.
His goals helped Atalanta record one win, got two draws and lost one game in the four games they played in September.
Lookman has bagged two goals, had an assist in four games for Atalanta in the Italian topflight this season.
In the Champions League he has scored one goal, provided one assist in two games so far.
He is in the running for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award, the only African player who made the cut.
Meanwhile, he is currently with the Super Eagles as they prepare to face Libya in the second leg of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
In the first leg in Uyo, the Eagles recorded a 1-0 win thanks to a Fisayo Dele-Bashiru late goal.
Lookman, however, saw his goal incorrectly ruled out for offside.
