Chelsea star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has described Ademola Lookman as humble and very hardworking.
Lookman was named 2024 CAF Player of the Year award winner in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday.
The Atalanta star finished ahead of Achraf Hakimi, Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy and Ronwen Williams to land the award.
He succeeded compatriot Victor Osimhen as the best player on the continent currently.
Dewsbury-Hall, who was teammate with Lookman at Leicester, said he is proud of his latest achievement.
“Come a long way, so proud bro,” he wrote on X. “Most humble, hard working guy. @Alookman_.”
Lookman had a memorable 2024 follow this impressive performance for both club and country.
He helped the Super Eagles reach the AFCON 2023 final where they lost 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
He scored three goals and was named in the AFCON 2023 Team of the Tournament.
Up next was the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen where Lookman netted a hat-trick in the 3-0 win.
His remarkable performance earned him a Ballon d’Or nomination where he was ranked 14th.
