Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, has described Leicester City forward, Ademola Lookman as an exceptional player who is blessed with great alertness anytime he’s front of goal.
Analysing the Foxes’ 2-1 loss to Wolves on Sunday, Scholes hailed the former England youth team player who recently switched allegiance to Nigeria.
“Really good play from Tielemans, we know the quality he has and he showed it with the weighted pass,” the former midfielder said.
“Lookman coming in from the other side, Albrighton squares it. Lookman has been a real threat, he’s been Leicester’s most dangerous player and he’s alert, he comes inside and he gets his goal,” he said.
Recall that Lookman who is on loan from RB Leipzig, scored four minutes before halftime to cancel out Rúben Neves’ early opener.
He was a nightmare to Wolves defence, especially in the first half and had more touches in the opposition box, than any other player.

A great player with wonderful footwork.
Lookman still has to wait for his time with the Super Eagles. It will be wrong to rush him again Ghana due to how important that game is. Moses Simon and Samu two left feet Chukwueze are our automatic starters followed by Samuel Kalu and Ejuke.
@Igbekun Abo please bro Resind that comment Lookman is very much needed rather they drop Musa but I don’t want to think I just saw you type that are you kidding me Lookman has been assisting and Banging in goals right from the Liverpool game prior to AFCON. No way bro your comment is a joke. I think Samuel Kalu can focus on Breaking into the Watford team seeing as though una no want make dem drop your messiah Musa. Lookman will be our danger man on the wings and Bassey our suprise weapon from defence..
@Igbekun Abo why don’t you guys like good things??
@Ugo no mind them. That’s why I don’t respond some people’s heckles here. Most guys on CSN just like empty argument. They are hardly ever consistent with objectivity. You see a Lookman playing at the highest stage… Staring where Iheanacho is on bench, where Samuel Kalu does not even know when he will start getting minutes at Watford… You are here saying he needs to bid his time as Ghana match is not to be played with… Is GHANA Brazil? We need to people who could force plays to swing instantly in our favour. I will callup Nwakaeme and Lookman and give them minutes based on what they show in training against Ghana. Nwakaeme and Lookman are capable of deciding a game. Nwakaeme is a very mature fearless player. We need players who are not predictable in their play and could do other things on the pitch. Samuel Chukwueze should not start against Ghana, that guy game is yet to mature apart from always wanting to run at defenders and if double-teamed he becomes toothless. Based on sporting reasons for now… Lookman and Nwakaeme needs to play against Ghana.
Jimmy you have a point. For me, world cup qualifiers against Ghana should be prosecuted with players vastly experienced in international football. If Kalu and Chukwueze are fit, the fact that they are seasoned Super Eagles internationals should help them blend seamlessly into Eguavoen’s strategy. Even if Lookman is a young Messi or a young Ronaldo, he will still need to blend to international football. I take your point though, but for me, the match against Ghana should be prosecuted by seasoned international.
There is nothing like international football or clubside football where player is grounded very well in his game… The experience you talk about, is it not by getting called up? Who can explain why Nwakaeme has been consistently hitting the leadlines in Turkey for over 5years playing for a top5 team in Turkey but has been shut out of Supoer Eagles? Ch
Jimmy, you (a self proclaimed former football player) can actually come to an international open forum to suggest that there is no difference between club football and international football.
I rest my case sir
And some Non entities on CSN were suggesting that Musa and Ighalo is needed in SE more than Lookman. Lookman carry go Joor.
When I said that NFF played a key role in our Early outing at Recently concluded AFCON people were thinking not. Dennis ( Late inclusion in List) Lookman(dragging switch) and Calvin Bassey ( not Selected ) even these 3 players would have made a huge difference to the outcome of our AFCON campaign I firmly believe that.. Yet some People on this forum are still trying to argue that even if they are not in Ghana knock out game, some mediocre old legs will do the job nawa o!!
You are twisting the argument Ugo. Musa is needed in the team as a squad member, not starter. If you look at most major Tournaments or passage of time intervals, Nigeria has always reserved one slot for an inspirational bit part player. Check this out.
In 2022 – Musa.
In 2018 – Elderson Echiejile.
In 2014 – Joseph Yobo
In 2010 – Nwankwo Kanu
In 2002 – Mutiu Adepoju
In 2000 – Daniel Amokachi and Emmanuel Amuneke
In 1994 – Stephen Keshi.
Surely there are others missed in this compilation. The point is that the Super Eagles always reserves a slot for a motivational largely-non playing player. Today it is Musa, next 2 years it may be Leon Balogun. So, don’t kill yourself over this ONE OR TWO SLOTS.
If Lookman is that good, he will grab one of the remaining 22 slots.
@Igbekun… and how much of an inspiration did we see from Musa in Cameroon? You guys comeoff all these old and useless politically motivated reasons please… do sport for sport!
Jimmy, England continued to cap David Beckham well past his best and Argentina took Veron to 2010 world cup with younger players available. Don’t get this argument twisted Jimmy. I couldn’t give a damn whether Musa is invited to the Super Eagles or not. Some players just add something to the team off the pitch which is why many nations add one or two players who have reached their sell-by date in major squads. If you follow my contributions on twitter, you will see that I am not crazy about Musa. Rather, I respect the right of national team coaches to reserve one slot in this 23 man squad for a very mature player who adds something different off the pitch. Hope you get it.
@Igbekun Abo… LOL!!!! Mumu Talk again, are you comparing Juan Sebastian Veron and David Bekham with Musa oh my God.. Bro did any of them get Relegated to a Teams Under 23… Did any of them struggle to make an Impact in a league like NPFL?? .. Mind you Argentina did not have better options than Veron in 2010 he was still playing top football in Argentina in a league Miles ahead of NPFL and Beckham was doing Wonders in LA Galaxy both fulfilled X100 of What Musa has in their Club careers some of you like to use Examples wey no even get head to counter your Stupid reasoning in the process looking even more Demented SMH!!!!!!
Again Ugo, your ability to understand an argument is comprised by the organ that you are using to think. Lolzzzz. Let me remind you, blokos is to urinate, the brain is to think with. I am not comparing Beckham and Veron skills-wise. Rather, it is their worth as LONG STANDING EXPERIENCED INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS. Do you understand? I guess not. Go to the toilet and urinate, come back here and then maybe you will be able to think straight.
@Igbekun Abo bros e don do.. be like say sense for dis particular matter no dey your camp walahi. If you no sabi u no sabi, i no go kill ma self!
No wahala brother Ugo. One love and remember to always take your vitamins.
I still cannot understand why a slot is reserved for an undeserving player who has practically lost his legs and limbs.
This is ridiculous and this kind of injustice we condone always comes back to bite us
Man Michael Olise really played the No 10 role against Chelsea very well. I would like to thank Amaju Pinnick for taking time out to ask Olise and Eze to reconsider thier switch of allegiance to SE, if reports coming out are true however I would like to also ask the NFF to keep Michael Olise’s especially low key because the season he is having if England is alerted of this Gareth South Gate will do what he did with Saka and Cap him immediately
@Ugo Iwunze, the above message is for Super Eagles sell-outs!
@Igbekun Abo.. So you are saying that your state Man Pinnick is thinking with his yansh for asking these quality lads to rescind?? what rubbish.. Since Okocha retired have we had a player like him???. Aribo is slowly coming but he will need some Good Competition to bring even better out of him. That is how serious countries who want success think..Michael Olise if he rescinds is very Welcome he is class, and his Father is Nigerian, His Mom is Half Algerian half French. Meaning out of any country he is eligible he is most Eligible for Naija. Unless you are not Nigerian but for where i am from we assume the side of our Father first before anything. His only tie to England is place of birth. the Boy is Nigerian and if he rescinds we will openly welcome him with Open arms. Maybe you should stop talking frm your Yansh and saying Lookman should Bide his time whilst supporting a Expired players hold ona whole captaincy.. that is the most stupid comment I have seen here considering Lookman Form and Musa lack there off for the past 4 years.
Ugo, calm down dear. U are chatting with so much testosterone that you need to channel your energy elsewhere. Lolzzzz….
Listen and learn. If you thrust Lookman into such a high profile match like the Ghana one and he has an off day (like all players do) it could shatter his confidence and lead to damaging psychological issues. If you reason with the right organ, you will connect with what I am trying to say.
A very high stake match like the one against Ghana is delicate for player and country if you throw in a new player like Lookman. Maybe ease him in, based on the score line. From your comments on this platform, you come across as a short term bitch. You only seem to think of the here and now. You don’t see matters beyond your nose. Yes, Amaju is trying to convince Eze and Olise but as a loyal Super Eagles fan, your loyalty should lie in players already committed to us or those showing positive signs. For players who are hot-and-cold about representing Nigeria, we should spit them out! Or at the best wait for them to commit first. But, if your head is wired correctly, you will be weary of players who need to be begged a million times before committing to Nigeria. You should already know that the commitment of such a player (if they eventually agree to play for Nigeria) will be in question. A living passionate committed dog is better than a lukewarm lion.
@Igbekun Abo, I expect more from you bro, did England won anything with Beckham, see my guy, Lookman is more technical than all our wingers, u are comparing Ejike mr zero assist to lookman, lookman and Aribo are far more technical than all those jokers with exception of Moses and Kalu. Lookman is definitely needed against Ghana, he doesn’t need to start he can come from the bench, but we need him against Ghana.
@Sunny B, you, Ugo Iwunze and Jimmy and my kindred spirits. You guys are held highly. But Musa offers an inspirational presence for Nigeria from the bench. I never compared his achievements with those of Beckham and Veron but as mature players in a national team camp, Beckham, Musa and Veron have something in common.
The match against Ghana is crucial. Giving Lookman his first cap in such a match can be a baptism of fire if handled poorly. We know NFF is incompetent and Nigeria fans are stupid. The same fans calling for his addition to the Ghana match are the same one who will go on social media with abuse and death threats of the player has a poor match. Just ask Okoye!
Lookman and Bassey are really asking questions about the super eagles jerseys with immediate alacrity, their jerseys respectively should be accorded them now…
I am praying and hoping that Michael Akpovie Olise plays for Nigeria at the end of everything, that guy along with what we already have on ground CAN MAKE Nigeria play in a semi-final of this year’s world cup.
Wait o! Guys! Una no Sabi watch football at all? that guy called Olise in Crystal palace is even better than Eze wallahi…. E bi like say una no Sabi watch football sef! Michael Olise na Bomb!
Michael Olise is real complete compendium of the no.10 we Don dey find tey tey! Michael Olise is freekick specialist, an Assist master, fantastic goalscorer, good dribbler….
One player that a football aficionados president should visit to convince him in playing for Nigeria for the sake Nigeria unity is that Michael Akpovie Olise of crystal….
E bi like say if una see STAR una no Sabi am sef… Olise abeg of you come and play for Nigeria and making me happy you will never regret it by God’s Grace!
@Abdul Handsy Bros I no understand some of our people atool!! de matter fit make persin knack head for ground i dey tell u bro, dem no sabi go tin atoooool!!! e be like sey if dem see gold dem go one chop copper I don tire Naija people no be small!
Make we just dey here siddon dey look!! Nawa o !!
Convincing a talented player to play for SE is not begging……Na wa o…… football super powers like Germany England Spain convince dual national team players to commit to them talkless of Nigeria……. Nigerians are very proud and they mostly have nothing to offer o……… Please Eguaveon should do all he can to convince Olise and Eze to commit abeg……. Enough of midiocrity……. football power houses don’t expect players to beg or bribe to play for them but Kwashiorkor Nigeria with their empty corruption striken enclave wants world class players to come and beg them……..They say they are avoiding inferiority complex lolz……Are you not inferior before?……look around you interms of economy infrastructure development commerce military sports Agriculture Electricity etc are we not lagging behind?…….the solution to a problem starts from admitting to having the problem at the first place…….. saying you don’t want to have inferiority complex does make you not to be inferior…….. saying you don’t want to look inferior by convincing dual national players to commit does not make Nigeria not to be inferior……. Nigeria’s inferiority is all over the place for even a blind man to see……..Our leaders go abroad to treat malaria and one proud citizen here does not want to look inferior to the same people his leaders run to for just a minute of ass licking…….. Nigeria’s problem is that we love to lie to ourselves alot…….we don’t like calling a spade a spade……..we love planting cassava and expecting to harvest yam……we want to eat our cake and still have it…..mtchew…….abeg Eguaveon should go and BEG whoever he can beg joor……. lizards thinking they are crocodiles.
