Look goal keeper Rohr gave Nigeria. Euro sports commentary says unconvincing goal keeper. We need Peter Rufia and goal keeper coach please NFF.
What the hell is wrong with iwobi. 2 good clear cut chances spurned by him so far.
Am I the only one missing Chukweze? And for crying our loud what is happening to Iwobi? Out pases were really poor in the first half. They are just passing as if they are shooting the ball.
I still believe we can win but changes are need ASAP
Here’s a link for the game

Thanks
20 mins gone so far.
Guinea with the better possession…Nigeria with the better goal scoring opportunities.
OMG…..!!!
Wat did Ighalo just do there…?
Unselfish plays wouldnt help us at all..
1st it was Iwobi not cutting back for ighalo for a tap in…now its ighalo not cutting back for musa for a tap in
Dr Drey I guess you meant to write “selfish players wouldn’t help us”.
Can’t believe Ighalo couldn’t pass to Musa for easy tap in chances like that don’t come many in games like this
Those boys are playing the game with the bonus grudge on their mind. They are intentionally wasting these chances. They are not playing to win. They have done this type of thing before, so this is not the first time.
We need some finishis
Super Eagles’ story of the first half – MISPLACED PASSES. Either over hit, or under hit, or directly to the opponent. Two clear cut chances from corner kicks. Both headers wasted by Ndidi and Awaziem. Don’t even want to talk about Ighalo not passing that ball to Musa, who was in front of a yawning net! Overall, good performance by the team. But things need to be stepped up.
Iwobi hasn’t been very clinical with his passes so far. Ighalo should’ve pass the ball to Musa. Guinea need this game as well so it’s going to be fun second half. Our defensive line has been solid and very impressed with Awaziem. We still have some jokers on the bench, Onyekuru and Osimhen should come in at some point.
Mehn.. This game dry sha.
Exactly.
When is Rohr going to make a change. Bring in chukwueze for christ sake
I tire ooo
Ndidi has done a great job in shackling Keita so far….! I rate him an A..!
Goal…!
This must be Omeruo’s year…!
Omeruo is better than Balogun any day of the week.
Thank goodness. No more oyinbo wall.
Nice goal thanks Simon for that pullout thanks Kenneth for that nice nodding.
Nigeria can go all the way.. Very strong team.
Chukwueze on for Iwobi..!
Formation collapses from a 4-3-3 to a flat 4-4-2 now
The Akpeyesque one has had a good game. Calm and collected in front of goal.
And right on cue, he commits a blunder!
Good punch out by Akpeyi, redeeming himself. Almost took Omeruo’s head off in the process!
That referee just dey blow nonsense
People judging Ighalo based on one match that he was just lucky to get a creative pass from a creative defender, you don see am ba. No goals after like 80mins of play. You don’t judge players or performance based on one match
So he has to score in every match for you to applaud him abi…? Does the fact that both Guinean centre backs got a yellow card because of him ring a bell in your ears at all…?
He has to score in every match joor.
What are you talking?
You better stop celebrating Mediocrity
Oya go and bring Isaac Success na…shebi he is ‘FAR BETTER than ighalo’.
Me I no talk that one o. Ighalo is better than Isaac Success.
So, why were you condemning Onuachu based on jast one match? All of a sudden, the coach made a blunder for using Onuachu, Ighalo is a better striker blah blah blah…
Don’t mind him and his nefarious activities.
Pls go and copy and paste anywhere I condemned Onuachu and lets see…!
The squad is complete. How many noticed the absence of ekong wasn’t felt. Almight Mikel didn’t play at all yet the midfield was tight I don’t see him getting to play defensive midfield any more that position is filled with faster player the only place Mikel can manage is attacking midfield which iwobi is unarguablely number1. We didn’t even play osihem and Henry yet their absence wasn’t felt.. Kudos Rohn you selected the best… Plz is there still room for iheancho??
My brother…probably since 2000 nations cup…this is the 1st SE squad where the 2nd 11 is almost as good as the 1st 11 and will produce similar results and performance.
Yet we have a useless, senseless, bastard idiot as a coach….according to them who only refer but to themselves.
I do enjoy reading some comments here like drey,s comments, but like seriously oga Rohr need to improve the so they can be clinical in goal. I don’t think Senegal will find it difficult beaten guinea.
Gbam.
Rohr has done a good job you could see his input in the team.Rather you should blame the players for not taking their chances.Ighalo should have passed to Musa for a very easy tap in.You can’t blame Rohr for that or can you?
Once again….We qualify for the next round with a game to spare.
Yet we have a useless, stupid, senseless, idiot, bastard coach according to some people. LMAO
Anyways, they are only referring to themselves…!
Absolutely my bruh,in 2013 we had to wait until our very last match against Ethiopia to be sure of passage to the next round.Eventually we came second and had to contend with a powerful Ivorian team in the first round of playoffs
abi o. Omo 9ja owes Coach Rohr an apology.
Omo9ja does not owe anyone any apology.
He is the all-seeing one. His words shall surely come to past.
The tournament has only just started.
As for Dr Drey, his subversive activities will not go unpunished.
Lol everyone knows you are omo9ja stop embarrassing yourself on this forum.
As predicted battle was won in the middle, good game
Up Super! Up Eagles!
I don’t know why Rohr sub Iwobi, the midfield collapsed with Chukwueze in the middle.
Mumu after we won u dey complain
@Beejay, You be super mumu. I complained before the end of the match. And you think they would have scored if it were to be better opposing team like Argentina or Brazil with that pressure?
Was expecting Mikel for Iwobi instead.
The midfield wasn’t as good the moment Iwobi was subbed out for Chukwueze who had very minimal input
I cannot believe that Akpeyi has now kept 2 clean sheets
Amazing right? Lol
Ndidi man of the match thanks for bossing the midfield,Etebo, Iwobi, Simon thanks guys good game overall
Oya…enemies of progress…..those who are waiting for the team to fail…..oya come out and talk your usual rubbish(es) o. The floor is opened for you…!!!
Your nefarious activities have now been noted. You are now under notice.
all of them don go hide omo9ja come out you a man ooooooooo isssssss
There is still a lot of work needed to be done fa!no fluidity. Let’s just enjoy the moment
Thumbs up to ndidi…star marker
Iwobi not up to par, misplaced passes here and there. Only glimpses, how long will this go on
The defence marshalled by omeruo, I doff my cap
Akpeyi, was not tested per se….under pressure he will cave in!.he still doesn’t have it in him
Moses, Moses Moses u can do better up front but I salute ur defensive contribution
Musa was a thorn in d flesh, would have done more if output from d middle was better
Ighalo, can’t really blame him. Was marked out. Even Suarez won’t do much when marked out
Overall, the team got it done albeit tasteless and drap.
From d stables of a bystander…..
Once again we don’t need to press calculator to know our fate.. Rohn has done well.. The defense was rubber tight. I’m not sure guinea had any clear chance.. For our next week I want Rorh to pay ezenwa Collins balongu awazie simon.
John ogu Mikel iwobi.
Samuel chukweze onachu Henry
Thank God we won the match. Another mistake. Why removing Iwobi for Chukwueze? Against big teams, Super Eagles would be punished. Mikel would have been better. The midfield collapsed after Iwobi was sub.
Why he refused to use Onyekuru? I said it before the match, you can’t use Ighalo for the full match and coach Rohr’s fans started calling me names. They even called me clown.. oh yeah clown clown…. you don see am now?
You are celebrating this victory but a lot needs to be learned. If win this tournament, not by coach Rohr ability or coach Agu but destiny and players.
A little I watched in today’s match wasn’t bad but I’m not convinced with the coach Rohr’s tactics.
You can quote me wrong now but let’s wait until we are playing against the host and other big names. I don’t which my Country bad but the truth is hurt which is my daily food lol. Let’s celebrate and stay humble for now.
Coach Rohr’s assistant are there for nothing. The sub he made shows that Coach Rohr can’t do it alone. I’m afraid.
I don’t watch football blindly. Using Ighalo in the second half is the best option. Using Onuachu or Onyekuru will be the best for the team.
But can he? What is the purpose of having assistant coach?
NFF are the problem of this situation. Hmmm, what do I know ba. Naija with their daily dramas. How market my people? It is well ooo. God bless Nigeria!!!
You always say negative thing about every situation. If you watched Guinea’s first match……you would know coach Rohr’s tactics worked every well today. You always say rubbish
Sometimes all you need to do is humble yourself and give kudos to the gaffer. I don’t comment much here but so far it is obvious you strongly dislike Rohr and his tactics.
Nothing he does seems right to you.
Anyway, it’s your opinion.
I’m just happy that we seem to be getting our groove back gradually. If we get to the semi-finals it’s a good achievement by Rohr.
Bad market. How would you say semifinal is good for Nigeria?
My friend, if you know you know. I love coach Rohr too much. In fact, I don’t know why but he doesn’t listen. I can’t do without bn honest. 9ja system doesn’t like that.
This is Afcon not world cup. Come ooo you guys should please listen to the word of advice from I omo9ja.
I am expecting this Oga Rohr team to play at this year’s Afcon final period.
If you guys make me angry Ah, I may not eat all day today and even, I will turn my TV off on Sunday during Nigeria last match if cares is not taken. Except you guys begged me.
I rushed home because of you guys to watch the match still none of you appreciates my efforts.
What can I do to satisfy you people? I think this is the best time for me to be the next Nigerian coach but will you vote for me? I know, 99% of you won’t vote me in but when God says yes, who can say no? Absolutely nobody.
So therefore, I am watching you one by one o. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
you get TV….?
The all-seeing one. I bow at the feet of your knowledge.
None of these goody-two-shoes or fancy-pants know what you know. None of them can see what you see.
We marvel in awe of your knowledge.
Carry go.
Omo9ja is our leader any day. He is candid.
He’ll be the next coach after Rohr exits. Up Omo9ja!!!
Sarcasm. Lol.
This no be Sarcasm matta oooo, The coach is tactically weak. Period rather remove Musa Iwobi, Mikel should have been used also Onyekuru, What is the Purpose of Bringing on Onuachu with 2 mins left??? he can’t even ginger his leg in that time abeg i tire for di coach Rohr
Gbam
Thank you bro. Hmmm, it is well lol. They even called me Peterside Udah lol. They are so confused lol. Let’s celebrate and be honest with ourselves. Oodabo. God bless Nigeria!!!
Guy you are pathetic
Ehen…oya dem don come.
Dey don dey commot 1 by 1. Enemies of progress them. Those who predicted we will have a disastrous tournament unless their arsenal U18 goalkeeper is given our posts to man at this afcon.
.
“If we win this tournament, not by coach Rohr ability or coach Agu but destiny and players.”.
.
But if we dont…it is solely coach Rohr…not destiny….not players…not any other unforeseen circumstances.
Clap for yourself. I dont expect anything less from you. I’m only surprised you forgot to add that NFF should sack him ASAP the way you always do.
The same rohr that has molded the team into a solid, difficult to break team…a team that can survive 2 clean sheets with a basket like akpeyi in goal. A team that will face players from Liverpool, Napoli, Eintract Frankfurt, Bordeaux etc, (coached by an AFCON silver medal winning coach) and the keeper would not need to make any save for 90 mins. That same Rohr is not good tactically now.
For only the 2nd time in close to 30 years, we have qualified for the next round of AFCON with a group game to spare, but according to some people, our coach is not tactical.
Same people who cried that Mikel played 10 now complaining again that the coach didnt sub him in to play the same 10 they crucified him for the last time. Bunch of confused people.
Later they will claim they love Rohr.
.
I thought you said you dont care about AFCON and that you wouldn’t be watching…! LMAO
Wen we were growing up, we were taught that elderly people don’t tell lies….now i can confidently say i know elderly people who tell lies. White lies for that matter.
You don’t which ur country bad? Are u a witch? Winch?
Calculator sellers at Alaba market and other markets beyond are holding an emergency meeting as we speak. Ever since Nigeria hired GERNOT ROHR as coach of the Super Eagles, calculator sales have dropped. Nobody is buying calculator again. We qualifed for 2018 world cup without any need for calculator. Qualified for Afcon, calculator nowhere to be found. Now, we have qualified from our Afcon group to the next stage. Again, no calculator! The calculator has been rendered useless and redundant by GERNOT ROHR. So, calculator sellers are worried sick! When will the calculator become relevant again to the Super Eagles? Calculator sellers want to sell their market oooo!
Another gibberish from the master. You sha always look for one thing or the other to pull this man down but God pass you. I think you were saying Guinea is good team but God has given him victory na so he go do against that your host country or any other of your so called big team. If he defeat Senegal tomorrow you still com here to say it is because of luck and youthfulness of his players. Rubbish
On point MR X
MR. X COMMENTING ON TEAM LIST BEFORE THE MATCH:
Not bad barring Akpeyi.I’m glad Rohr has finally listened and given Iwobi his chance. The man can be so stubborn, see how he was gifting Onazi starting eleven chances, even when we were saying Onazi has CLEARLY declined and needs to be dropped. Finally, the coach learnt his lesson the hard way, when Onazi cost us a lot in a friendly just before the WCup.
I used to tell people Iwobi thru d middle is sumtin that wud not be much of a risk, forget how Arsenal(my team) is using him. In d WCup dat tactics cud have saved us too,eg abi don’t we know dat Mikel was tired in d 2nd half against d Argies?
Now those dat shouted, eventho Iwobi was listed as an attacker, dat d coach shud consider using him as a midfielder in d nations cup, shud be smiling now. That’s competition and that’s how our team shud be.
To me,it’s a better team than the first match. Nor fear for Balogun, one thing with that guy,is his heart– he has a passion dat has a way of pulling him tru wen d going gets tough.
Akpeyi? It’s a pity, this is b4 us. I tell u,Akpeyi is not better than Enyimba’s keeper or Lobi stars keeper, lemme not mention Austin Ejide.Where is Dele Alampasu?
The bright side of d Akpeyi matter today is dat,he has a better midfield in front of him today,d defence too shud play slightly better than d last match,so alas the keeper will breathe more fresh air and it’s an opportunity for his confidence to grow.
I think we shud beat Guinea eventually.
Shalom
MR Y REPLIES MR X:
Iwobi played that role all through the qualifiers for the AFCON. This is not the first time he’s been given the chance to play as a number 10.
MR. X, AFTER THE MATCH:
@Mr. Y,yes but Mikel was absent isn’t it?It’s a different ball game if Mikel is in the team, like at the Worldcup.
So his playing 10 today is different from his playing 10,when Mikel is not in the team. SO THIS IS NEW.
You can also see that he began to have an eye for goal as the game wore on. It’s a decent effort from him today,I know he has it in him to do better,if allowed to continue there.
“I think we shud beat Guinea eventually.”
As if I already knew it wud be an “eventually” thing. As if I knew Guinea will try hard but eventually the Super Eagles will find a way.
We saw Balogun, that is the HEART I talked about. We saw a better defence with Omeruo,Awaziem and Ola on fire,so it helped Akpeyi gain some confidence.Ofcourse,he still must improve.
So kudos to the Super Eagles.
I just sorry for the team we will play in the third match, lots of players on the bench who are like bulls ready to go on rampage and possibly break into the usual starting eleven.
I pity Madagascar bcos they’ll suffer. If GR rests our players the subs will finish those guys as they’ll want to prove a point…Onyekuru, osimhen and the rest.
I see u OnwaJ. How u de? Correct, the sub will finish them completely
Tols my man! Those guys wey don dey hungry since. Let’s just hope Rohr would play them.
No be sure he wud rest players,he said so himself.
So indeed it will be a pitiable overload on that team.
When the draw for this group came out, any pundit would have told you that Nigeria should scale through without too much difficulty. We have done so and while it shouldn’t be taken for granted, it is the very least expected out of us.
I for one keep looking at this team with a critical eye towards matching up against the other heavyweights we are likely to come across in the quarterfinal and beyond if we are fortunate to get there (which we should be).
The positives are we have qualified with a game to spare and can now rotate the squad in the last match. This is a huge benefit as a result of the grueling conditions in Egypt. We have also won both matches without really getting out of 1st gear too much which means there’s another level we can take it up to (a necessity when playing better opposition). We are also seeing that we have squad depth and flexibility.
To be worked on is the passing efficiency and accuracy especially by etebo, ndidi, and iwobi (in today’s match). There’s no saving us from Akpeyi as he’s here to stay and we just have to pray that he doesn’t cost us when it matters. Otherwise I say carry go Eagles. I’m with you all the way.
Kudos to Ndidi, Omeruo, balogun, awaziem, and musa today.
That’s exactly what we’ve been talking about. A bench that is as good as the first 11. I can’t remember the last time the SuperEagles have such a luxury of game changers on the bench. Now we will get to see the likes of Onyekuru, Osimhen, Kalu in full swing against Madagascar because we’ve qualified with a game to spare for the first time in as long as I can remember. Thank goodness we have a foreign coach who knows what he’s doing. The defense looks water tight Awaziem was superb, Kenneth ‘Nesta’ Omeruo and Balogun combo seems the best for this AFCON going forward. Aina enough said about a player with tactical ingenuity from serie A. The midfield is gelling with Iwobi Etebo Ndidi with a plethora of options in attack. SuperEagles will at least play in the Semis and that will a good achievement for this team and Rohr. If they reach that stage they’re as good as winning the cup itself. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE#
Kudos to Coach Rhor and Super Eagles! Pls sir bring in Osimhen, Onyekuru, Kalu, Collins, Uzoho/Ezenwa in our game against Madagascar. Some of these players like Osimhen (19 goals) and Onyekuru came to camp with a great form in goals and trophy (Onyekuru) under their belt and we can’t afford to watch them waste on the bench. Thank you sir, pls give Chukwueze more opportunity at the attacking midfield role as I strongly believe he has the skills, pace and tenacity for such role.
Pls our players, especially the final 3, need to train to be more clinical at the box. Pls Iwobi, Chukwueze, Igalo, Musa and co haven’t you learnt how to use R² to score goals or don’t you watch your top colleagues in club do it (also see Egypt’s 1st goal in their first Match)? Again thanks to Omeruo for the header, the team has to practice more on set pieces and penalties as we move to the knock out.
God bless you and your team sir!!!
