Foreigners come here and spot the best players but our coaches who are closer to these players do not even find them worthy of U20 or U17 invitation yet they go to these tournamentd and struggle to get 3 points..
Why I strongly feel our Nigerian coaches are not serious and are very corrupt or ethnically bias.. a player is good for lille but not good for U17 or 20.. tomorrow they will apply for super eagles position

Gladdens my heart to see that our Academy is fast becoming one of the best in Africa. The question is: “what is wrong with our junior cadre Coaches in the area of selection?” Foreigners will come, spot them, and take them away. Why are they not making the selection process for Tournaments? God have mercy!
Check serious countries like France, England, Germany who always do well at u17 and u20 tournament you would hardly find a star player that didn’t at some point play for their junior side… The best young players should come from your junior teams..
It’s a shame that you find some super eagles stars who never played for the junior teams but were spotted by foreign agents who took.this players from Nigerian academy straight to top European sides..
Soon even our junior teams will be occupied by the foreign coaches if the ones we have fail to do their jobs
And what is wrong with if European Coaches dominates our Youth Teams what is wrong with that @Ololo, frankly speaking after the disgusting campaigns of Ladan Bosso them, why is it actually a bad idea if European coaches get involved in our youth Teams. I didn’t see you complaining with the Recognitions Osimhen and Boniface is bringing Nigeria, as you said there is a problem with Youth players going straight to Europe and bypassing Youth teams well Boniface and Orban did.
@Monday Odang… They are failing and refusing to snatch real talents because they prefer to market their own players. Take a coach like Ladan Bosso… He only picked one player from Nduka Ugbade’s Golden Eagles in the person of Charles Agada who is a player of Mavlon FC Lagos. Now you would want to ask who owns Mavlon FC and will be shocked that grassroot club will surely have certain NFF officials as board members… The junior national teams have now become the main channel where football agents funnel their players abroad by paying for their slots in our national cadet teams and bribing responsible coaches… It’s all a business scheme!
@Jim and @Monday it is better o, ha let them go overseas oo it is way better that is how it should be it is better for their Development until, the League is on a different level and naturally when that happens you won’t need to say “why are they not selected locally”. After all the high quality football is played in Europe I am sure you are watching Euro’24 and you can see that Nigeria or rather Peseiro Tactics he used in AFCON ’24 will not stand a chance there!.. Nigeria is lucky to have a Good Academy system that is funnelling the right caliber talents abroad, let the cheaters go to NPFL lol!
Iwunze, Youth football club sides have always been a part of Nigeria football development, these young lads were the group Youthsfon used to be responsible for, they were the group that were travelling to Norway, Sweden and Denmark for various Youth Tournaments in the past. Their existence did not stop or affect school football competitions like principal cup and academicals. So do not mistake these youth football teams for Academies because they are not. There are no true football Academies in Nigeria and it is not part of our football culture. The Europeans are known to groom their wards through Academies and they are very good at it, they enroll their children into Academies starting from age three . American do theirs through school system just like we used to do in Nigeria. It is the only system that can really capture children from all over the country without any barrier. Those who are benefiting from the rot in our football would always campaign against real grassroot development of football in Nigeria but should not be enough to stop the giant of Africa from doing the right thing for posterity sake
