Good..these guys are really doing well in their respective clubs. I mean it gives me joy each time I check in here to read news of them either scoring or giving assist. Now my only prayer is for all these their brilliant performances to reflect in the national team come the afcon and world cup
I keep on imagining this guy Lookman in Nigerian squad wow! I fear no foe guys! I really love the way Lookman plays his football very direct with a very beautiful progressive dribbling skills. Good shooting ability, nice creative spark, beautiful crosses when needed….
Lookman is going to be a menace in the super eagles colour…. I dont really think that Nigerian international passport could be a stumbling block to his nationality switch this much but what I know is that comes one day his switch along with others will surely bears fruit for super eagles’ harvest.
Super eagles starting line-up like the following go sweet in sweet football pitch.
…………. Okoye……………
Aina …..ekong…..Balogun …. Zaidu
Aribo…………… Ndidi……….Iwobi
Chukwueze…. Osimehn….. Lookman
Meanwhile, Leicester deserves to have won this match if not for Barnes stupidity. Lookman and Ndidi all scored and they were cancelled due to Barnes foolishness by staying in the front of the oposition keeper…
This is a very solid starting 11 – if they’re all 100% fit and Lookman is finally over (Except for the goalkeeper. I’m still not sold on Okoye. In fact, none of the current goalkeeping options gives me full confidence, which is why I always question the competence of Alloy Agu who’s been 5 years on the job).
Talking about Lookman, why can’t Rohr or Pinnick come out to plainly tell us what’s up with his planned switch and the others like Oliseh and Ejaria’s supposedly on the same FIFA queue? Why do they keep fans in the dark and leave us speculating? CSN, why don’t you investigate and give us the fact sheet and ask Rohr pointedly. We already lost Saka, Tammy, Eze. Hope no more rude shock in the offing?
@Abdul handsy… You have not told us what will happen to the likes of Musa, Onyekuru when the likes of Lookman finally pitch tent.
The question is how come it’s taking forever for Lookman or Ejaria to switch nationality to Nigeria? NFF is certainly not telling us something we don’t know.
Playing chukwueze and lookman on either side of Osimhen wont be effective. Osimhen will be isolated because all attention will be on him. It will be better if we play either lookman or chukwueze along with osimhen and another attacker (iheanacho). That way the other attacker will take some of the attention off osimhen while freeing lookman or chukwueze to do their thing.
It will be just like what we had in 2013 AFCON with Emenike as the Main striker, Brown ideye as the support striker and Victor moses as the winger with a free role. The combination was too much and we won the cup.
I don’t foresee prospect in switching of allegiance of Lookman and others before AFCON next year due to the fact that it’s more than a year now since the commencement of the processing. Probably England is playing politics or NFF is lackadaisical in approach
Nigerians are better off focusing on the players we have in our team right now instead of spending time day dreaming of players switching to Nigeria.
With these abundant talents, Rohr in another medium said Its difficult for Nigeria to win AFCON because the number of teams has increased to 24 from 16.
This will be the team i will play. I will give Iwibi the Tielemann’s role. He (iwobi) has said he prefers playing the #10 or #8 role for the eagles and i believe he will do a better job there than Aribo in my view. Ndidi alone is 2 in 1 (2 people in 1 person) he can cover lots of ground but the team will have to defend together when we dont have the ball to compensate for Iwobi’s lack of defensive qualities (not that he can’t do it), iwobi like many people have said in the past plays to instruction so playing this role shouldn’t be a problem at all, he should even thrive here as he is better playing thru the middle in my view . This team has speed, trickery, finishing and above all balance. The key to this formation is that we have to be on the front foot all game. We should dominate possession and not give the opposition chance to play
…………. Okoye……………
Aina …..Ekong…..Balogun …. Zaidu
Ndidi……….Iwobi
Chukwueze………………..Ejuke
Osimehn….. Iheanacho
Just thinking out loud, i don’t envy GR at all lol. Too much headache
Based on the players we have available, Proudly9ja’s line up is good to go, in my opinion.
The only thing that may change is Collins coming in for Zaidu. If Collins performs the way he did against CV, he will be hard to bench!
The Iwobi-Ndidi combo in the middle will function in a manner similar to the Okocha-Oliseh combo we had in the past. Ejuke and Chukwueze on the wings, and Osimhen and Iheanacho up front. Solid defense, explosive attack.
Second eleven:
Uzoho
Ebuehi, Akpoguma, Awaziem, Collins
Aribo, Michael, Etebo, Kalu
Dessers, Sadiq
Playing Aribo on the wings or as an AM will transform him in the Nigeria jersey. He plays in the midfield alongside Ndidi because that is the coach’s preference. And he does that pretty well. But that is not his ideal position. The guy is deadly on the wings. Watch his Rangers games. He should be deployed on the wings for MAXIMUM IMPACT.
If Lookman, Ejaria, and Calvin Bassey join the squad, then the dynamic will change obviously. And if they don’t, the guys we have on ground can still deliver, and will be better helped if NFF ONIGBESE cooperates by:
1) Paying ANY AND ALL OUTSTANDING ENTITLEMENTS.
2) Providing IMPROVED PLAYER HEALTHCARE AND WELFARE, and
3) Providing STANDARD PLAYING PITCHES.
If these 3 conditions are met by NFF ONIGBESE, these boys will respond and we will see great results.
NFF ONIGBESE, THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT!
Well..the current team is good except these players (that are good but not enough)
* Akpeyi
* Omeruo
* Shehu
* Musa
* Bonke
I really wish to watch Collins one more time. The match against Cape Verde isn’t enuf.
Therefore, we need to speed up the papers or extend invitations to ALL or FEW of these players..
* Bassey
* Ejaria
* Lookman
* Olise
* Dessers
* Sadiq
Then may be to be watchful in case these players have change of minds..
* Tobias Lawal (GK)
* Udokhai(Lefty)
* Tomori
* Eze
* Danjuma
* Madueke.
These present team are good but with some present players, I believe we can do better . we are 70% percent there but with the addition of few players, at least.. World Cup Quarter or Semifinal is achievable.
Now! Imagine a world cup Squad like this..
*Okoye (Dida)
* Uzoho
* Any other Goal keeper
* Aina (Cafu)
*Ebuehi
* Sanusi/Collins
* Bassey
*Balogun/Tomori
* Ekong
*Awaziem/Udokhai
*Akpoguma
*Indidi
* Etebo/Onyeka
*Aribo
* Ejaria
*Olise/Eze
*Iwobi
*Chukwueze
* Ejuke/Danjuma
* Lookman
* Kalu/Simon/ Madueke
*Osimhen
*Iheanacho
*Moffi/Onuachu/Dessers/Sadiq/
So help us God.
