Liberia head coach Peter Butler is confident his team can beat Nigeria in Friday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture, reports Completesports.com.
The Lone Stars will face the three-time African champions at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos in the match day one encounter.
The Super Eagles are overwhelming favourite to beat their fellow West Africans but Butler has backed his team to secure maximum points in the game.

“It’s going to be a tough group and favourites Nigeria have got qualities and are heavily funded compared to us,” the former Botswana coach was quoted by scorenigeria.
“But I am going to back myself against any coach in this group.
“They have Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, I could name more, but we’re going to be competitive and I believe we’re going to upset a few teams on the road.”
The Lone Stars contingent are expected in Lagos on Tuesday.

The Liberian Manager says the Super Eagles are “heavily funded” He doesnt know the Nigerian coach has not been paid for 7 months and the players are owed a bundle of allowances and bonuses
@Ako Amadi, abi oo my brother, the funny thing is that, he and Rohr were friends, and Rohr hasn’t disclosed all this to him, more reasons we should respect that man
People outside the country believes there so much money in Nigeria .Though this is true but all the money ends in the National Assembly and house of reps.
Why using the Teslim Balogun Stadium? The Stadium is too small for a huge game like this. It will favour the Liberians.
Is it today eagles have been playing at the stadium ? The stadium is absolutely ok
Sorry ehn. No vex. Next time we will use Santiago Bernabeu.
Even if the stadium were a 100,000 seater stadium, CAF only approved 5000 fans for the game…..so what difference does the size of the stadium make at the end of the day…? Albeit Teslim Balogun is about 45000 in capacity which is the 3rd biggest in Nigeria if I’m not mistaken.
