Leicester have confirmed the signing of highly-rated defender Mitchell Clark after his release from Aston Villa. The 20-year-old Nuneaton-born defender came through Aston Villa’s academy but only made one senior appearance before being released at the end of 2018-19.
That outing came in the EFL Cup in 2017-18 when he played the full 90 minutes in a 4-1 victory over Wigan. He spent last season on-loan with Port Vale in League Two, making 45 appearances across all competitions, but Villa opted against renewing his contract.

Leicester have offered Clark the chance to continue his development at the King Power Stadium, handing over a three-year contract, and he will link up with the under-23 squad.
“Leicester City Football Club has completed the signing of Wales youth international defender Mitchell Clark on a three-year deal,” Leicester said in a statement. “After 12 years in the West Midlands, the exciting young defender will now continue his development as a Leicester City player.”
