Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca has explained why Wilfred Ndidi was not in the Foxes squad in Tuesday’s Championship game against Sunderland.
It is understood that Ndidi reported muscle tightness ahead of the game and has been given the night off rather than be risked.
Speaking after Leicester’s game against Sunderland Maresca disclosed that Ndidi was rested.
However, he said the Super Eagles midfielder could return for Saturday’s trip to QPR.

“With Wilf, it’s tiredness, something a little bit more than tiredness, so he needs some days, and we don’t want to take risks for them. He could play (on Saturday), we’ll see,” Maresca was quoted on Leicester Mercury.
Ndidi has made 12 appearances in the Championship scoring one goal and provided three assists.
Also, he has netted three goals, made four assists in 15 games in all competitions so far this season.
Leicester continued their impressive run in the Championship as they recorded their fifth consecutive win on Tuesday night by pipping Sunderland 1-0.
James Justin was the hero for the Foxes as his 12th minute goal secured his side their 12th win in 13 league games (one loss).
Leicester, on 36 points, top the league standings and are eight points ahead of second placed Ipswich who have played two games less.
