Hull KR hooker Tommy Lee has announced he will quit playing rugby league with immediate effect after a number of injuries. The 31-year-old joined Rovers ahead of the 2018 season and made 37 appearances across all competitions in the past 18 months, scoring three tires.
However, he has only figured 14 times this season and has not played since June because of niggling problems. The much-travelled Hull-born man has played for several clubs in Super League, including St Helens, Wakefield, Huddersfield, London, and Hull FC.
“Physically I have been struggling with niggles and I feel like I can’t perform each day like I would like to,” he said. “I feel that it’s the right time to call it a day. I have played for almost 15 years at the top level and I’m very proud of that.
“I would like to thank everyone at Rovers for their support over the last two years and wish everyone the best.”
