Lazio new boy Manuel Lazzari reportedly fractured a metacarpal bone in his right hand and is facing up to a month on the sidelines. The highly-rated 25-year-old wing-back only moved to the Stadio Olimpico last month after Lazio paid SPAL €10m and included Alessandro Murgia as part of the deal.
However, Lazzari’s Serie A debut is set to be put on hold after he suffered the injury during friendly against Lazio’s Primavera team on Sunday morning.
It means he will miss Lazio’s opening game against Sampdoria next weekend and the derby clash against city rivals Roma the following week on September 1.
However, Lazzari could return to face former club SPAL, who he scored four goals in over 200 appearances for over six seasons, when the sides meet at the Stadio Paolo Mazza on September 14.
