Goalkeeper Michael Langer has signed a new two-year contract extension to keep him at Schalke until summer 2021.
The 34-year-old Austrian, who has had spells at Stuttgart, Frieburg, FSV Frankfurt and Sandhausen in Germany, joined Schalke from Swedish side IFK Norrkoping in 2017.

Langer has struggled for first-team action in Gelsenkirchen as he sits behind captain Ralf Fahrmann and Alexander Nubel in the pecking order.
Nevertheless, he is happy to stay at the Veltins-Arena as third-choice custodian until 2021. “I’m very proud to be part of this great club for the next two years,” said Langer on the club’s website.
