Chelsea manager Frank Lampard believes Lille forward Victor Osimhen will make it big in future following his performance in Tuesday’s Champions League clash at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, reports completesports.com.
Osimhen scored Lille’s equaliser on the night and was a thorn in the flesh of Chelsea defenders for most of the game.
The goal was the Nigeria international first in the Chsmpions League for Les Dogues and seventh of the season.
Nigerian -born forward Tammy Abraham opened scoring for Chelsea in the 22nd minute following a pass from Fikayo Tomori.
“I know where he (Osimhen) comes from, I know his story he made a big game and managed to ask us a lot of problems in defense. He will make a big career,”Lampard told reporters after the game.
“He was hugely impressive. Tonight was going to be a tough match for our defenders. His performance individually was really good.”
Lille are without a win in the group from two games, while Chelsea have three points from same number of games.

Even Lampard knows.
The stars are almost in perfect alignment with us. Nigeria is brimming with soccer talents. Time to polish them into gems and make a powerful statement in the world. But Nigeria is fond of wasting what God has blessed her with. That’s the fear. What we didn’t pay for, we don’t value. What a pity. Give half of our talented boys to some African countries and they’ll shake the world. Over to our administrators: an enabling environment. Let’s polish these boys into gems. NOW! This is our chance: as the title of a small play I read in high school decades ago says.
Haaaaa bigger boys in world football knows our super Vic Osimhen, guy ride on,
