Chelsea Manager, Frank Lampard, has described Tammy Abraham’s goal in the Blues huge 4-1 away win against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday as ‘incredible’.
The win moved Chelsea further up in the table to fifth and Lampard told the club’s website after the impressive display and victory that he trusted in Tammy’s quality even before the season started..
“Tammy’s goal incredible, to get the purchase and contact on the ball,” he said.
“When people are in good form, things happen for them. It comes from how Tammy has handled himself all season, from preseason, from early season when people were questioning him in different ways, and the work ethic behind the scene that gets him in such good nick.
“He’s not just an incredible handful for defenders, with his running, holding the ball up and good feet, he’s getting the goals which is brilliant for him.

” I trusted in Tammy at the start of the season. I felt it was his time to come back to Chelsea. He also has Oli [Oliver] Giroud, a world Cup winner and Michy Batshuayi, a top class Premier League striker and he has made the position his own in the short term.
“He has to keep that going because competition is key. Over the course of the season we will need everybody, but he deserves the great week he has had and the great season he is having. I will keep on him because I want more.”
The Chelsea Legend hinted he was not worried when Abraham was subbed with the youngster feeling slight pain.
“He’s fine. He took a bang on the back of the knee, but I think he wanted a round of applause,” Lampard said.

….but england is not in need of strikers!
They called him in to prevent Nigeria from having him first. Rohr will be OK without him anyway.
CSN has utterly disrespected the Nigerian soccer fans by imposing news about this boy on them. To set the record straight, Nigeria made moves to invite him before England and he declined the offer. Reason? Concentrating on club football. The Nigerian move then became a bargaining point to push Southgate to act. And as providence would have it, he started pumping in goals, which was good. Of course we knew he has skills, that’s why the SuperEagles was keen on having him, anyway.
But now that he has made his choice, let’s give the matter a rest. We wish him well. He is one of our own. Spluttering the site with his news everyday is becoming sickening, an insult to Nigeria. Really. We’d be excited to learn about other patriotic players who are using their skills to rewrite our history. Period.
My bro am telling you this Csn journalists dnt hv anything to offer us.they only go to BBC news to take England sports news and send it to us here, amosu and his colleagues are lazy like Imama and his team,
I think you guys are just emotional. You don’t have to read the news if you are so gutted.I think we missed out on two young and powerful players who would have raised the quality in our team significantly but the players in question have their sights on England but super eagles lives on!
@Achi & @Ubah, you just showed how myopic you are like fish in the pond. So this site is meant just for Nigerians like you? So stuff about sports men and women who don’t represent your national teams shouldn’t be posted here? How shameful. For your information, this is worldwide web, not community newspaper in your village. Site like this is for anyone in any part of the world who cares to read. This Abraham story is a good one to read for me, so alsk for many other sports fans who are not Nigerians.
The thing is there is nothing bad in reporting Abraham news but we must him just like we report dele Alli news here
Chelsea are very pleasing to watch this season. There are always a lot of goals involved. They are doing great first season with Lampard but they need to concentrate more in defense because each game both teams are scoring at least one goal.
