Frank Lampard will be handed a £1million bonus if he can guide Chelsea back into the Champions League next season, reports have claimed. Lampard is currently locked in talks with Chelsea officials and is set to be announced as the club’s next manager at some point this week after agreeing a three-year deal.

The contract is said to be worth £4million but reports are rife suggesting Lampard could earn extra money on top, with £1million heading his way for a top-four finish. Such a clause speaks volumes and is a sign that Chelsea are preparing for a tough campaign in the Premier League.
Maurizio Sarri just managed to achieve a top-four finish last season, but it will be a tough ask for Lampard in his first season considering Eden Hazard has left and the club are currently under a transfer ban. Further talks are expected to take place today with an announcement set to made sooner rather than later.
