Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac has claimed his side fully deserved to win as they overcame Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon. Bremen’s unbeaten run was ended as Niklas Sule scored the only goal of the game with 15 minutes remaining.

Bayern took full advantage of Milos Veljkovic’s red card in the 58th minute as they moved closer to a Bundesliga title. Kovac’s side are now four points clear of Borussia Dortmund, who play on Sunday afternoon. When asked about his team’s display, Kovac told the club’s official website: “I wish that we would have used the multiple chances we had to get 2-0 or 3-0, but the 1-0 is enough.
The win is fully deserved. “It was difficult for both teams today. We knew that Bremen are very difficult to play against. We had to play patiently. “The dismissal has certainly made things easier in the second half. We have three points and are happy that we can celebrate Easter as leaders.”
