Former France international has one year left on his existing deal but wants to return to France to see out his career in the land of his birth. Arsenal were unhappy with the veteran’s stance and have made it clear that they will take action against him for his refusal to travel, and talks over his future are said to be ongoing.
With Shkodran Mustafi set to leave the Emirates, Koscielny’s departure would leave Unai Emery light at the back and in need of reinforcements so it may be a case of delaying his exit until a new man can be found. Nevertheless, it seems as though the former Lorient man has kicked his last ball for the club.
