Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted that the team must buy to fortify their midfield this summer.
The German tactician is committed to replenishing Liverpool’s midfield this summer and will not change his plans due to the progress of Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic.
“We know exactly what we need,” said Klopp. “That didn’t change. I wouldn’t say when we started our planning in September/October that Stefan was necessarily involved in all of these talks but of course he is now. It would be crazy if not. That’s how it always was and always will be.
“Stefan is a top player and we are really happy that when we had to improve defensively his defensive contribution is really interesting for each football team. He is a really smart player with good vision, good over view, good technique, but that has nothing to do (with transfer plans).
“We need players. We count on them definitely, of course [for next season]. It’s good and there’s a lot to come from the boys, both of them, it’s good.. That is very, very helpful and pretty much the most important thing but that does not mean we cannot have a look in the summer.”
