Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp says he would have “paid money” to be in the position his side are in after two games against Manchester City.
The Reds remain four points clear at the top of the Premier League table despite suffering their first league defeat of the season against Pep Guardiola’s side in a 2-1 loss at the Etihad Stadium.

Leroy Sane bagged the winner in a thrilling contest, which saw Roberto Firmino cancel out Sergio Aguero’s opener in the first half.
Having missed out on the chance to go 10 points clear at the top of the table, Klopp still can’t believe the position his side find themselves in at this stage of the season. “I have so much faith in my players, you can’t imagine,” he said.
“If someone had told me after both games after Man City we were four points up, I would have paid money for it, you cannot believe. It is something not possible.”
Liverpool are next in Premier League action on January 12 when they make the trip to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton.
