Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hinted new signing Harvey Elliott may be sent out on loan for the upcoming campaign. The Premier League’s youngest-ever player opted to join Liverpool last week following the expiration of his youth contract at Fulham and he reportedly turned down the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in favour of moving to Anfield.
Klopp is certainly a big fan of Elliott, who featured during the Reds’ 3-0 friendly defeat to Napoli at Murrayfield on Sunday, but the German has hinted that he may look to send the 16-year-old out on loan to further his development. “I can say many positive things about the boy because we have signed him and he decided to join us when he could have gone pretty much anywhere,” Klopp told reporters.

“Now that he is here, let’s work with him. He needs game time, we have to see where he will get that. “He is obviously a fine, fine footballer – that is the reason why were really interested.” One man that won’t be leaving Liverpool on loan is Ryan Kent.
The winger has had five separate loan spells away from the club, including a successful season-long stint with Rangers last term, but Klopp believes the 22-year-old is now ready for either a chance in the Liverpool first-team or a permanent move away from the club. “His time is over for loans,” Klopp added regarding Kent. “At the age he is now, he needs to find a place where he can settle. We will see what happens but a loan is not planned.”
