Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed Virgil van Dijk has trained as normal ahead of Friday night’s clash with Southampton. Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League, where they hold a two-point advantage, after they beat Cardiff City 2-0 last night and the Reds need to respond at St Mary’s.

There have been one or two injury issues of late for the Reds, but Klopp has revealed, as things stand, they are looking good for the trip to the south coast. The German has reported a clean bill of health after a minor injury worry over key defender Van Dijk, who picked up a knock during the win over Tottenham on Sunday.
“It looks quite good. No major concerns, actually. After the game, you think about Virg, but he trained OK, completely normal,” said the Reds boss. “It was only a second recovery day but he took part in that, and I heard nothing different that he could maybe not train today. No, it looks all OK.”
