Suspected kidnappers have abducted the mother of Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu, reports Completesports.com.
Completesports.com scooped that Mrs Ozuruonye Juliet Kalu was driving with some of her children along the Okpulu Umuobo area of Aba, Abia State, last Wednesday when the unidentified gunmen blocked her vehicle, ordered the children out of the car and took her away.
The kidnappers initially demanded for a ransom of N3m but declined to release Mrs Kalu after the money was released to them.
Completesports.com also gathered that the kidnappers are now demanding a ransom of N50m ($140, 000) before they release Kalu ‘ s mother.
The Abia State Police Command Completesports.com further gathered are working with the family to secure Juliet Kalu ‘ s release.
It remain to be seen if Kalu ‘ s mother will be released before his French club Girondins Bordeaux Ligue 1 clash against Montpellier on Tuesday.
Kalu is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Seychelles and the friendly clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt later this month.

We’re praying for you, Kalu and I’m sure the NFF and the FG will move swiftly to resolve the situation. But guy after this, get you fam out of that place and to the big city like Lagos or Abuja. Better still, fly your parents and immediate brothers to your base in Europe. God bless. Remember Trump’s opinion about this place cos of things like this.
Maybe it is time for us to consider having “KIDNAPPING INSURANCE” in this mess of a country called Nigeria. Our foreign based pros need to seriously consider moving their families out of the country for this reason. After Mikel’s debacle, I would have imagined that players and the police would be on alert. Alas, here we go again!
Fools, you have the mother’s of the thieves in Government but you can’t kidnap them because you are scared of thier security rather you turn on people that really struggled to reach where they are today through hard work and not through embezzlement.
