Wakefield Trinity have been boosted after winger Lee Kershaw signed a new one-year contract to stay at Belle Vue until the end of 2020. The 20-year-old, who cut his teeth with two loan spells at Oldham where he scored 15 tries in 25 games, was finally handed his debut at Trinity in April when he scored a try against Leeds Rhinos.

Kershaw has since added a second try to his tally in just five appearances and his overall performances have prompted the club to move swiftly and hand him a new 12-month extension. “Lee’s been enjoying a good run in the side and has impressed on each occasion,” Coach Chris Chester said on the club’s website.
“He’s a player that is always eager to improve and I’m looking forward to seeing him develop in the future.” Kershaw added: “I’m over the moon to have signed a new deal. “Hopefully next year I can carry on getting some more games under my belt. It was an easy decision for me to sign the contract and I think Wakefield can develop me further, so I’m excited for the future.”
