Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny has refused to rule out remaining with Schalke beyond the end of the season.
Kenny joined Schalke on a season-long loan deal over the summer and has featured in all three of their Bundesliga matches so far, scoring one goal.
There is no deal in place for the 22-year-old Englishman to join the Royal Blues outright at the end of the campaign but Kenny says he could be open to extending his stay with Schalke.
The right-back told the Bundesliga website: “It’s still too early for that decision. I don’t want to live in the future. Whatever happens, happens.
“Now I’m definitely giving everything for Schalke.
“Schalke is still a huge club. The club has played regularly in Europe, and has a large following. People know Schalke from the Champions League, it’s a world club. Now we’re concentrating on the league and want to take the next steps.”
