Nigerian striker, Olanrewaju Kehinde has joined Turkish second division side, Denizlispor on a one and half year deal with an option of another year from Ankaragucu report Completesports.com.
Kehinde was restricted to just eight substitute league appearances in the Turkish topflight division in the first half of the 2018/19 season after helping Ankaragucu secure promotion to the Super Lig last term.
The 24-year-old burly forward wrote in a long post on his Instagram Page to apologize to the fans of Ankaragucu at the manner which he left the club claiming that he was forced to demand what he deserved.
“Dear Ankaragucu and Ankaragucu Fans, no one is permanent in any football team. It is the most precious side that is permanent, loved and respected,” he began.
“I gave my best to Ankaragucu Football Club and tried to be worthy of the community every time I played, and I believe I did that.”
“I want you to know that if your environment makes you unhappy you have to leave. That’s what I did. I would like you to know that I did not get my salary, I demanded for it and I was freed through my lawyer.”
“I’ve been forced to do this, I’m so sorry. I’m very thankful to everyone who supported me. I wish Ankaragucu and my friends and fans success. Love and respect.”
Kehinde is expected to make his debut for Denizlispor in an away clash to Gazisehir Gaziante FK on the 20th of January.
