Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante hopes he will be fit for the Europa League final, should the Blues advance at the expence of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Kante was forced off injured 10 minutes into the Blues’ 3-0 win over Watford in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and will now miss Chelsea’s return leg in the Europa League against Frankfurt at home on Thursday and Sunday’s final Premier League game of the season at Leicester City.
However, the France international doesn’t blame Maurizio Sarri for his injury and is focusing on getting fit for a potential Europa League final on May 29 against either Arsenal or Valencia.
“No. I was just fine and it just happened,” Kante was quoted on weaintgotnohistory.
“I’m OK, I just have pain through my hamstring and I just need a bit of time to check what it is.
“That is one possibility [that I will be out until the final], but first, we need to check and take the time to check everything to see how long it will take.”
Chelsea’s win against Watford, coupled with Arsenal and Manchester United both drawing at the weekend, means the Blues have secured Champions League football for next season through a top-four finish.
