Ajax managing director Edwin van der Sar admits Juventus are the only Italian club that want to sign defender Matthijs de Ligt.
Rumours around the Old Lady’s interest in the 19-year-old centre-back were confirmed by Van der Sar on the night Juventus technical director Fabio Paratici was spotted in Amsterdam watching Ajax’s Champions League last-16 clash with Real Madrid.

Ajax have already done a deal to sell Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona after this season and the Catalan club are thought to be the club that De Ligt would prefer to join too.
Van der Sar did confirm that his old club were among the candidates to sign the player, telling Rai Sport: “Whether he is going to Juventus? I can say that there is only one club in Italy that wants him, but I do not know if he will actually go to Juventus.”
Barcelona chairman Josep Maria Bartomeu admitted this week that he was impressed by De Ligt but Barca snapped up talented Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo in the January transfer window.
