Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell is a potential target for Juventus on the loan market ahead of the January window, according to reports from Tuttosport (via Football Italia) on Thursday morning.
Juventus are looking to add at least one new defender to their ranks in January to cover the losses of left-back Juan Cabal and centre-half Bremer, both of whom have suffered season-ending cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.
However, as Juventus spent fairly heavily in the summer on the likes of Teun Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz, there is little room left to play with in the budget, which means the club are shopping in the loan market to cover the teams’ cracks in January.
Several centre-backs have already been linked with a move to the Allianz Stadium, including PSG’s Milan Skriniar, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior and Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin.
But Tuttosport claim that Chilwell is a possible option to cover Juan Cabal at left-back.
The former England international is currently considered surplus to requirements at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca.
The 27-year-old has played just 45 minutes all season, which came in the EFL Cup and has not even been named in a Premier League squad at any stage of the 2024-25 season.
Tuttosport claim that Chelsea could even be open to the possibility of sending Chilwell out on loan without a fee and that they could even cover some of his wages until the end of the season.
Thursday’s report claims that it would cost Juventus somewhere in the region of €5m to sign Chilwell on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, through wages and bonuses.
