Joselu paid tribute to the Newcastle United fans after completing his switch to La Liga side Alaves on Monday. The 29-year-old, who spent two seasons at St James’ Park after joining from Stoke City in 2017, bagged six goals from 46 Premier League outings for the Magpies.
However, he has called time on his Tyneside career and will ply his trade at the Mendizorrotza Stadium next season. It seemed inevitable the former Spain Under-21 star would leave Newcastle after making just 17 appearances in all competitions last term, and he took to Twitter to say his farewells.
He wrote: “Dear Newcastle United Fans, the time has come to say goodbye. I just can say THANK YOU. Incredible Stadium, city, Club and people. Wish you all the best for the upcoming season.” Joselu played twice for Real Madrid and has also featured for Spanish clubs Celta Vigo and Deportivo La Coruna.
