Former Liverpool defender, Glen Johnson has advised the club to make Crystal Palace winger, Eberechi Eze their top transfer target next year following the 26-year-old’s failure to secure a move away from Selhurst Park this summer.
Johnson believes that Eze would be an excellent replacement for Mohamed Salah should he decide to leave upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this season, given the interest shown by several “exciting clubs”.
Johnson is also optimistic that Federico Chiesa, who might make his club debut on Tuesday against AC Milan, will bring some excitement once he settle down at Anfield.
According to The Mirror, the 40-year-old emphasized in a Betfred interview that the team has to go all out for Eze.
“He’s been unstoppable in certain games and as long as he can do that more regularly, then he’d definitely get into Liverpool ’s team if that signing was to happen,” Johnson said.

“He’s one of those players that can be a nightmare to play against, so it all depends on whether he can do it every week because he doesn’t at the moment. If they can get him firing weekly, then I believe it would be a great signing.”
Eze’s contract with Crystal Palace will expire in the summer of 2027.
Manchester United and Manchester City have previously been linked to the former QPR star.
Eze has featured in all Palace’s Premier League fixtures this season. He opened his goal account account for the season in the Eagles’ 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge just before the international break.
Crystal Palace are set to face Eze’s former club, QPR in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday (today).
