2024 NBA champions Boston Celtics could be bought by Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos.
The Celtics owners put up the club for sale in July, less than two weeks after they won their 18th NBA title.

X-raying the Celtics’ preparation ahead of the upcoming NBA 2024-2025 season, Bill Simmon hinted during his podcast that the Amazon founder is possibly one of the candidates interested in purchasing the club.
The asking price for the franchise is mentioned to be around $6 billion, or around $2 billion.
Celtics current owner, H. Irving Grousbeck, bought the franchise during the 2002–03 season for a then-record $360 million. The franchise is now reportedly worth over $5 billion.
Bezos is the founder and owner of Amazon, the largest retailer in the world. Bezos’ net worth is estimated to be around a whopping $195 billion.
The multi-billionaire was previously interested in buying the NFL’s Washington Commanders. He’s been mentioned as one of the suitors to buy the Seattle Seahawks as well, after the franchise’s owner, Paul Allen, passed away in 2018.
