Fulham winger, Alex Iwobi says it is important for Nigeria to beat perennial rivals Ghana in their upcoming friendly.
The Super Eagles and the Black Stars will clash at the Grande Stade de Marrakech on Friday.
The Black Stars stopped the Super Eagles from securing a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Friday’s encounter will be the first meeting between the two countries since the Black Stars held the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw and qualified for the mundial on away-goal rule.

Iwobi explained the importance of getting a favourable result against Otto Addo’s men.
“It’s a game against one of our rivals, a nation that is close to us, so we will give our hundred percent and try and to get a good result,” the Fulham star told the Super Eagles media.
The encounter will kick-off at 5pm Nigeria time.
The Super Eagles are also scheduled to take on the Eagles of Mali at the same venue next week Tuesday.

God bless you Iwobi. That’s the spirit.
Let me re-echo my advise to Super Eagles on how to play Ghana which they never take and keep losing. The reason why Ghana has beaten Nigeria 27 times as against Nigeria’s 12 is because of mentality difference. While Nigeria plays the game against Ghana like some brotherly contest, Ghana plays it like the game against ‘THEIR BIGGEST ENEMY’. Ghana will prefer to lose against Djibouti, Eritrea, Lesotho, Mauritius or Seychelles than lose to Nigeria. The only approach is for Nigeria to play the game like they’re also playing against ‘THEIR WORST ENEMY’.
If una like , mek una go there go dey do Shakara, una go collect. Na advise I dey give as person we sabi Ghana well-well.
God bless you John-1.
We have no excuse. We only need to be serious.
God bless Nigeria.
@Iwobi… Nigeria cannot afford to lose against Ghana. We hear you… makes sure to put body play ball, no call the play selense football like say you no get balls as a man. African game different from whiteman game… for Africa na greedie level… get into tackles and pressure your opposing midfielders… up your game baba.
Don’t mind iwobi. At the end of the day he will be absent on the field. Never giving his best and never putting his body into games.
