Nigerian forward, Alex Iwobi has been declared a hundred per cent fit by Everton manager, Carlo Ancelotti to play against Southampton in tonight’s Premier League encounter at the Goodison Park.
Ancelotti had earlier on Tuesday morning made an official confirmation that Iwobi picked up a hamstring injury in the 1-0 league defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.
The Italian told Patrick Davison on the Sky Sports Football Podcast following the defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and shed some light on his decision to sub the former Arsenal winger.
Anthony Gordon had come onto the field of play as a replacement for the Nigeria international at half-time and it appeared that it was due to an injury which was confirmed by the manager.

“I wanted to use fresh legs for the game, Iwobi had a little/problem on his hamstring and so, I took him out and after that, I put [on a] fresh player for the end of the game,” Ancelotti explained.
But ahead of Thursday’s clash with Southampton, Ancelotti, while speaking at his prematch press conference via Video link at USM Finch Farm on Wednesday revealed that Iwobi was fit.
Everton signed Iwobi from Arsenal for £2/.36m last summer, but he
has struggled to have much impact in his first season with the Toffees,
having contributed just two goals and an assist in 26 games.
Despite his disappointing average rating of 6.61 so far this season, the 24-vear-old has started every game for the Merseyside outfit since the restart of the campaign.
