Iwobinho. Man has been trying, playing nice football. But it’s just not looking up at the moment. This is one player though who remains integral to Nigeria’s plans, relegation concerns notwithstanding.
Speaking of our midfield players, Ejaria has been given the cold shoulder by Reading manager Paul Ince for a while now. There was even talk earlier in the year that he was considered surplus to requirements.
Given his talent, opportunity might be knocking here for Nigeria. Can Nigeria take the initiative and approach this guy? Make him feel needed? Nigeria’s interest might give his career a much needed jolt and get him back on track, and he in return would feel indebted to Nigeria, and become highly motivated to reward the faith that has been reposed in him. Of course, it will not be given to him on a platter. He has to earn it. But given his potential, this gamble might be worth our while.
Imagine an in-form Ejaria roaming the midfield alongside Iwobi. He tends to over dribble in my opinion, but if he is helped to use his dribbling skill in a more pragmatic way, to give his team a competitive edge, he could be very useful for us. He could end our search for a number 10.
While I’m usually against the use of the SE camp as a rehabilitation center for players, I will make an exception in this instance. If he’s given the chance and he’s not up to the challenge, at least we tried. But if he can realize his tremendous potential, he could be a potent weapon in Nigeria’s arsenal.
Absolutely spot on @ Pompeii. Ejaria’s situation is a blessing in disguise for Nigeria if only we have eyes to see through things. That boy is a bundle of talent only begging for trust and love to unleash the beast in him. Will Nigeria take advantage? We wait n see
