Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi has debunked claims he plan to leave Premier League club Arsenal if they fulfil their ambition of signing Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace this summer, reports Completesports.com.
The Gunners have made no secret of their desire to sign the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international and have already had a bid of around £40 million ($50m) rejected for a player the Eagles value at closer to £80 million.
Zaha’s arrival could limit Iwobi’s chance of playing regular football at Arsenal and some media on Sunday, according to that the Nigeria international wrongly reported he would seek a move away from the club should they secure the services of Zaha.
Iwobi has however come out to deny the report indicating that he was misquoted – that he is not willing to leave the club at the moment.
“Fake news and click bait! I don’t know why some newspapers enjoy twisting words. I hope we sign world-class players at Arsenal and progress as a team. I’m looking forward to the new season,” Iwobi tweeted.
Iwobi signed a new long term contract with the Gunners last August.
The 23-year-old was part of the Super Eagles that won bronze at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
He scored one goal in seven appearances for the Gernot Rohr’s men in the competition.

Rumours or not, if you find another good club that needs your services, please leave.
Just took words outta me mouth. Nigerian players must start to be brave to demand for first team football especially when they are convinced they are good enough for it. As a player, you can only develop when you play regularly.
God bless u sire as i concur with all said above
