Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has said beating Manchester United at Old Trafford is always special for him.
The Cityzens thrashed United 3-0 at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday thanks a Phil Foden strike and an Erling Haaland double.
Haaland converted a 26th penalty and in the 49th minute headed in a cross to grab his second of the game.
The Norwegian then turned provider as he sent the ball across goal for Foden to tap home in the 80th minute to seal the victory.
It was City’s seventh win against United at Old Trafford under Guardiola.
City had endured back to back Premiership defeats against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal before getting back to winning ways against Brighton and Hove Albion.

“The second goal helped us a lot,” Guardiola said on mancity.com.
“We talked at halftime and thought they would be more aggressive. We made two incredible build ups with Ruben and Ederson. After we dropped and after Bernardo and Jack made a good action and those were the key points of the game.
“The first seven minutes we lost the ball because we didn’t do simple things. We allowed them to make a transition. The second half was brilliant. Last season we lost, this season we won, and it is always special to win at Old Trafford.”
Guardiola states that beating Brighton was important especially after the defeat at Arsenal.
The Spaniard explained that it was important to understand the way City have to play, that they have to be more precise with the passing.
Following the win against their city rivals, Guardiola’s men are currently third on the log with 24 points.
For United they are in eighth place with 15 points from 10 matches.
