Manchester City are braced on further approaches this summer for Pep Guardiola’s highly-rated assistant Mikel Arteta The Spaniard continues to enhance his reputation since being bumped up the pecking order last year following Domenec Torrent taking up the head coach role at New York City FC.
Arteta, 36, was the hot favourite to take over from Arsene Wenger before Arsenal appointed Unai Emery, having previously held extensive talks with his former club.
The Citizens would unlikely stand in his way and are expecting clubs to be circling the Spaniard yet again when the season is over.

Arteta has serious ambitions to become a manager in his own right one day and hung up his playing boots with the Gunners to accept Guardiola’s invitation to join him in Manchester in 2016.
Arteta is understood to be happy in his current role but the chance to take charge of a club may appeal if he is offered the opportunity in the coming months.
