Wolfsburg have joined the race to sign young Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe on a season-long loan deal. The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig, but injuries prevented him from making an impact and he returned to the Gunners with little action under his belt.

Smith-Rowe will be loaned out again and reports are rife suggesting that Wolfsburg are keen to get him on board for the forthcoming campaign, but will face strong competition. Leipzig are keen to take him back, while there are also suggestions that clubs in the English Premier League and Championship are also in the hunt.
The talented youngster is still battling back to full fitness and the Gunners will wait until he is ready before making a decision, which could take another month.
