Marc Cucurella has rejoined Barcelona in a 4million euros deal just a few weeks after Eibar signed him for half of that fee. The 20-year-old Spain youth international wing-back worked his way through the ranks at Barca and then joined Eibar on a season-long loan deal last summer.
Cucurella made 33 first-team appearances at Ipurua last season and scored one goal, ironically against Barca, as Los Armeros then took up the option to sign him for two million euros. But Barca included a clause to buy him back, which they have enforced immediately as Eibar will secure double the money they have paid.
However, with both AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund both thought to be leading the chase for Cucurella in this transfer window, the Catalan giants are still poised to make a profit as they are set to command a fee of around 10m euros for his signature.
