Tottenham are ready to more than double the salary of playmaker Christian Eriksen as they attempt to tie him down to a new deal.
The midfielder has proven to be a key figure for the north
London club since joining from Ajax in August 2013 for a reported £11million.
But Eriksen only has one year left to run on his current deal and Spurs risk losing him for free next summer if they fail to agree new terms.
Eriksen has so far rejected the offer of a new deal but Tottenham are hoping that the chance to more than double his salary will lead to a change of heart.
He currently brings in £80,000-per-week and Tottenham are ready to smash their salary cap by handing over £200,000-per-week.
