Brendan Rodgers claims he is happy to put himself under pressure after revealing that he wants Leicester to become a top-six side.
The 46-year-old Northern Irishman has enjoyed a strong start to life at King Power Stadium having replaced Claude Puel in the hotseat in February.
The Foxes are on course for a top-half finish ahead of Sunday’s final game against Chelsea and could be eighth by the end of play if they win and Everton lose at Tottenham.
Looking ahead, Rodgers has suggested that his aim is to lift the club’s ambitions higher than just trying to secure 40 points for survival and instead look to gain European qualification via regular top-six finishes.
When asked if he is placing unnecessary pressure on himself with that ambition, the former Liverpool and Celtic manager insisted that he welcomes that. He told the Mercury: “Everyone sees pressure as a negative.

You know when I was at Liverpool or Celtic that there are players when they play against you they go at it that extra 10-15 per cent so every game is a cup final feeling. “That’s what you want and that’s what it’s like every game.
Which is absolutely fantastic and that’s what you want. “That’s when you put your work in during the week. What you learn with experience is you learn to regulate the pressure.”
