Fiorentina have announced the signing of Franck Ribery, who has joined on a free transfer following his departure from Bayern Munich. Former France international Ribery ended his 12-year association with Bayern at the end of last season and he was linked with joining a whole host of clubs, but he has ultimately opted to make the move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The 36-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Viola that is believed to be worth around €4million per season plus bonuses and the club have announced that he will be officially unveiled at a press conference on Thursday.
Ribery has enjoyed a distinguished career, making 81 international appearances for France, while he has also represented the likes of Metz, Galatasaray and Marseille at club level. It is with Bayern where Ribery enjoyed his most success, however, as he won 18 major trophies during his time in Bavaria, including nine Bundesliga successes and the Champions League in 2013.
