Flanker Jamie Gibson is certain Northampton Saints can improve further after penning a contract extension. Gibson joined Northampton from Leicester Tigers in 2015 and has scored 10 tries in 116 appearances. The 28-year-old turned out on 31 occasions in 2018-19 as Saints finished fourth in the Premiership to secure a spot in the play-offs.

After putting pen-to-paper on an “undisclosed-length contract”, Gibson has revealed a desire to challenge at the highest level. Gibson told the club’s official website: “We’ve come a long way this season – both on and off the pitch – but the job is not yet done for us.
“We want to be challenging at the very top of the European game in the not too distant future, so I’m very excited to be a part of that. “I’ve never felt more determined to work hard, keep on improving, and to play as regularly as I can. “I’ve no doubt that this is the best possible environment for me to grow.”
