England batsman Alex Hales has been suspended after an “off-field incident”, according to a spokesperson for the player.
Nottinghamshire claimed the 30-year-old missed their One-Day Cup games last week due to “personal reasons” but it appears now that the player has been suspended.

The alleged incident in question happened last year and the spokesperson said: “While the issue is not cricket related, he accepted it was right he was suspended.” Despite this recent development, Hales is still expected to join up with the rest of the England squad for pre-World Cup training on Saturday.
The Nottinghamshire star was named in the preliminary 15-man squad ahead of the World Cup, which gets underway on home soil on May 30.
