Jefferson Lerma has been called into Colombia’s Copa America squad and insists he wants to make history in Brazil next month.
Ex-Iran and Portugal manager Carlos Queiroz has included Lerma, who was in his provisional 40-man party, in the final 23 for the tournament.
Colombia have only won the Copa America once in their history – as the host nation in 2001 – and Lerma is desperate to change that.
He said: “Every one of us who are here, we dream of having that title because Colombia has won very little. “Colombia has to do a very good job, go out as lions to achieve our goals and train as fit and fast as possible to make a good championship.”
Quieroz’s side face Panama in a friendly on Monday, before taking on Peru in a warm-up fixture six days later.
