Niko Kovac says Bayern Munich are working hard to secure a deal for Leroy Sane, describing the Manchester City star as a “dream player”. Bayern have made no secret of their desire to lure Germany international Sane back to the Bundesliga, with reports suggesting they held positive talks with his representatives earlier this week.
However, City have no interest in selling Sane and are keen to tie the 23-year-old down to a new long-term contract. It is also believed Sane has not expressed a desire to leave the Etihad Stadium although he was frustrated by his lack of starts in big games last season, with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva being preferred towards the end of the campaign.
Bayern are looking to capitalise if Sane does opt for a new challenge, with Kovac confirming the Bavarians are doing all they can to get the deal over the line. Kovac told Sport Bild: “Our bosses have shown him a clear plan. We are very focused, Leroy knows what to expect here and when a player with such capacity comes to FC Bayern, he knows his job.
“You can see that the transfer is not easy. But I know that our people are working very hard to make it happen. We will do everything to realise this transfer. “We all know that Leroy Sane is our dream player. The public knows that, we know that.”
