Juninho Bacuna has hinted that he could stay at Huddersfield this summer after he spoke about making a promotion push next season. The 21-year-old Dutch midfielder, who joined the Terriers from Groningen in his homeland last June, has so far kept silent on his future plans after the club’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed on March 30.

Juninho Bacuna, who has yet to be in a winning Town side when starting, is still under contract at the John Smith’s Stadium for another two years with the option of a third year. However, he has always said that the remaining games of the Premier League season were his sole focus when quizzed about the prospect of him remaining a part of Jan Siewert’s squad next term.
Bacuna’s situation will become clearer after Sunday’s final game at Southampton, but he offered a hint that he could be still on board after the summer. When asked about the possibility of the club making an immediate return to the Premier League, he said: “Nothing is easy, the Championship is also a hard competition. “You have to go with the same mindset and spirit into the games and, if we play like this (against United), hopefully we can get good results and hopefully we can go up next season.”
