Now, a deal has been officially agreed with the clubs and, subject to a medical, he will return to the Signal-Iduna Park where he spent eight seasons and established himself as one of the best central defenders in the world. Hummels won three Bundesliga titles with Bayern but will go to Dortmund after a fee was agreed in the region of 38million euros.
The German international, who won the World Cup in 2014 as part of his 70 appearances for Die Mannschaft, also won the DFL Supercup three times as well as the DFB-Pokal in 2018-19. Hummels will attempt to win his second Bundesliga title with Dortmund next season after they narrowly lost out this season, despite leading for much of the campaign.
