Tyson Fury believes Dillian Whyte deserves a world title shot but is refusing to fight the Londoner in a final eliminator. Earlier this week it was revealed that the WBC are planning to order Fury to take on Whyte, with the winner set to face Deontay Wilder. It was thought that the ‘Gypsy King’ might return to the ring against Wilder but that possible rematch has been put on the backburner for now.

He will instead fight Germany’s Tom Schwarz at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand on June 15 and made it clear that a fight with Whyte will not happen despite pressure from the authorities. “I don’t really think too much of it because I’m the ‘lineal’ heavyweight champion of the world. I fight who I want, when I want, how I want,” he told Behind The Gloves.
“I don’t need to fight eliminators to fight people. I already had a Deontay Wilder fight the other day without an eliminator. “I ain’t being ordered to do anything by anybody. I’m going at my own pace and I do what I wanna do.” However, the Manchester-born heavyweight does feel Whyte is good enough to be given a crack at the big time.
“I think it’s very unfair the way that they’re treating Dillian Whyte,” he added. “He’s had to fight some good men, some undefeated men and work his way back up the ladder. “He’s fighting another good fella, Oscar Rivas, in his next fight so I don’t know what more he has to do. He’s been number one ranked, give the guy a title shot for God’s sake.”
